Good Driving Skills

Posted by Mark Allen

This week my tip is linked to the US Open which starts next week.

One of the key elements needed by the top Professionals to have any chance of winning the years second major is good driving.

Hitting good tee shots starts with a good set-up. To set-up correctly for good tee shots all you need to do is follow these simple steps.

1) Widen your stance to give you greater balance for swinging the longest club in your bag,

2) Put the ball opposite your left heel to promote a sweeping action through the ball,

3) Place 60% of your weight onto your back foot to again help generate a sweeping action into the ball,

4) Finally, swing within yourself, the club will do the work for you, if you try to hit the ball hard you will miss-strike the ball and lose distance.
