As a young keen amateur golfer, James gained his first degree in Sports Science from The University of Leeds. Here he was awarded a bursary from the R & A to allow him to be as dedicated to his game as he was his studies. James represented his university team before progressing to represent the English and British Universities Golf Teams. His academic success coupled with his love for golf made the decision to train to become a PGA Professional a natural progression. James took up training to be a PGA Professional at the country’s most reputable training establishment, The Belfry, Birmingham.
Whilst successfully completing his training to become a fully fledged PGA Professional, James also became the manager of the PGA National Golf Academy. Following this, James was approached by De Vere Oulton Hall to manage their up and coming Golf Academy. James nurtured the Academy here into the first Nike Golf Academy in Europe. As a true believer in youth in golf, James also helped Oulton Hall become the country’s leading centre for the Young Masters Golf scheme.
James is currently the Head PGA Professional at the prestigious Moor Allerton Golf Club, Leeds. For more information follow the link for the Moor Allerton section of the site.
